Sleep++ FAQ

  • For Sleep++ to automatically detect your sleep, you need to provide permission for the app to access your Apple Health data.

    If your app is consistently having trouble detecting your sleep it may help to reset your permissions; even if it looks like everything is set correctly, toggling will "reset" the data and often fix the issue.

    To reset your Health permissions:

    • Open the Apple Health app on your iPhone.

    • Tap "Browse" at bottom of the screen.

    • Tap “Sleep” from the “Health Categories” list.

    • Scroll down and tap on “Data Sources & Access.”

    • Find “Sleep++” in the list of apps and services. Tap the button to turn the toggle off, then back on.

    After this, ensure that “Automatic Sleep Tracking” is enabled in Sleep++ itself:

    • Open the Sleep++ app on your iPhone.

    • Tap “Settings” at the bottom of the screen.”

    • Find “Automatic Sleep Tracking.” Tap the button to turn the toggle off, then back on to reset it.

  • Automatic Sleep Tracking uses the Health data collected by your Apple Watch to analyze your sleep.

    To capture sleep data, all you have to do in this mode is to wear your Watch to bed.

    Manual Sleep Tracking allows you to tell the Sleep++ Apple Watch app when you went to bed and when you woke up.

    To change between these modes, use the Sleep++ iPhone app.

  • Automatic Sleep Tracking uses your activity level to determine when you fall asleep. For example, if you are quiet in bed reading or watching TV, it may mistakenly think you are asleep.

    To adjust the start or stop time of a night’s sleep:

    • Open the Sleep++ iPhone app.

    • Select “Nights” on the bottom tab bar, then tap on the night you wish to adjust.

    • Tap the adjustment icon in the upper-right corner of the screen to open the “Trim Night” screen.

    • Adjust the start and/or stop time for the night by dragging the handles up or down on the right side of the timeline.

    • Once done, tap the “Save” button.

    Note: You can adjust a night up to four hours in each direction.

  • Yes! In the Settings tab of the Sleep++ iPhone app, there’s a “Nightly Sleep Goal” section. Select your desired goal, choosing from 15-minute increments.

    When viewing your sleep results, nights when you met your goal will be highlighted in green. Nights when you didn’t make it your goal will be highlighted in red.

  • In the Settings tab of the iPhone Sleep++ app, you can enable a “Morning Sleep Summary,” which will send you a notification when you unlock your iPhone first thing in the morning, letting you quickly see the quality and duration of the previous night’s sleep.

    If you use Automatic Sleep Tracking, previous nights are only viewable on your iPhone. Sleep data entered manually can be seen both on your iPhone and Apple Watch.

  • Nights are labeled based on the date you go to sleep, unless the time is between midnight at 4 AM. In that case, the entry is started on the previous day.

    An asterisk appears these nights to bring them to your attention.
